Thought I'd finally sample it. Sorely wish I hadn't. It's awful. Cluttered, confusing, especially bad for groups, just doesn't work in any way, shape or form. It's particularly painful for someone with OCD tendencies, like me, who needs a clean, simple interface where you can tackle things one at a time, not a screen crammed to bursting with everything all demanding attention at once. No, DevArt. Just... no.
Considering Patreon or Equivalent
Yes, really. I was originally looking at Ko-Fi, since I didn't think I'd be able to produce enough content for the likes of Patreon or Subscribestar, but in their terms and conditions I discovered they don't permit connection to what they term 'pornography, nudity, and other such obscene content'. That's both harsh - nudity, obscene? Really? - and seems to preclude my use of it, given the themes of my work. Buy Me A Coffee proved to be the same, albeit using the word 'adult' instead of obscene. Mulling it over today, I realised I might actually be able to produce a half-decent amount of content, so started looking more seriously at Patreon and Subscribestar. The latter went out of contention when I noted an account would be suspended after 30 days of inactivity, which is too much pressure for someone like me, who is highly unlikely to produce enough content quickly enough. For missing some notifications. Eclipse has achieved the impressive feat of making groups even harder to manage, by not bothering to notify you of group activity, among other things. I'll do my best to keep abreast of things, but it's not impossible I could miss more submissions in future. This is the first time I've encountered a site redo that seems entirely focused on making things worse.
Writing Woes
Tried to upload a She-Ra fanfic I've written here, but the new Literature uploader stripped out all the paragraphing when I pasted the text in, leaving just one long run-on mess I couldn't be bothered to spend minutes on end correcting. Want to read it, check my AO3 account. From now on, I shall refer to this site as DumpsterFire as that's pretty much what it's become, with a UI in which barely anything works properly and a management who blatantly don't care one iota about the users. Utterly disastrous.
